Roblox Adds Video Feed, AI Tools & Higher Creator Earnings
Roblox Adds Short-Form Videos, AI Tools, and Developer Upgrades
At the Roblox Developers Conference (RDC) 2025, Roblox announced major updates that reshape how players and creators use the platform. The biggest highlight: a TikTok-like short-form video feed called Roblox Moments, launching in beta for users aged 13 and up.

Players can now capture gameplay clips up to 30 seconds long, add music, write captions, and share them in a scrollable feed. Users can react with emojis, discover experiences directly from clips, and later this year, creators will gain access to APIs to integrate gameplay highlights and leaderboards inside their own games.
More money for creators
Roblox is raising its Developer Exchange (DevEx) rate. Creators now earn $380 for every 100,000 Robux, up from $350 — an 8.5% increase. Roblox says the average revenue for a Top 1000 developer is nearly $1 million, 2.9x higher than in 2020.
AI-powered game development
New AI features aim to give creators more freedom:
- Generative objects: Create fully functional items like cars or weapons with a single prompt.
- Voice tech APIs: Text-to-speech for NPC dialogue and speech-to-text for gameplay commands.
- Real-time translation: Voice chat will soon translate live between English, Spanish, French, and German.
Performance and realism upgrades
- Server Authority mode reduces cheating and improves in-game physics.
- More lifelike avatars with realistic climbing, vaulting, and item handling.
- Higher-fidelity rendering across devices without extra work for developers.
Why it matters
Roblox is doubling down on making its platform more like a social network + AI-powered game engine. With short-form videos, better monetization, and advanced AI tools, Roblox is positioning itself as not just a gaming hub but a creative ecosystem for the next generation of developers.
