Google AI Mode Expands Globally With Restaurant Finder
Google AI Mode Goes Global
Google has expanded its AI Mode in Search to over 180 countries, a massive step up from its limited rollout in the US, UK, and India. While English remains the only supported language, Google says more will follow soon.
This global release signals Google’s push to make AI-powered search and planning tools a standard part of how people use the internet.
????️ Smarter Restaurant Reservations
One of the most exciting new features is an agentic restaurant finder. You can now ask Google AI things like:
- “Book a table for 4 this Friday at an Italian place near downtown.”
- “Find me a sushi restaurant with availability at 8 PM.”
The AI considers group size, cuisine, date, time, and location before suggesting restaurants. Results include reservation slots and booking links via partners like OpenTable, Resy, and Tock.
????️ What’s Coming Next
Google isn’t stopping with dining. Soon, AI Mode will also support:
- Event ticketing with partners like Ticketmaster and StubHub.
- Local service appointments, such as salons, mechanics, and more.
These will roll out gradually to AI Mode users.
???? How It Works
AI Mode leverages Project Mariner, Google’s web-browsing AI agent, alongside Knowledge Graph and Google Maps. For now, the restaurant booking tool is exclusive to subscribers of the premium Google AI Ultra plan in the US through the Google Labs platform.
It also has memory capabilities, meaning it can recall past queries and preferences for more personalized results.
???? Share AI Conversations
Google is also adding a “Share” button inside AI Mode. With it, you can invite others into an ongoing AI chat—for example, when planning a group trip or party. The original user can revoke access anytime.
???? Why It Matters
This expansion cements Google’s commitment to agentic AI—tools that don’t just provide answers but take action on your behalf. From finding dinner spots to buying concert tickets, AI Mode could redefine how we interact with Search.
